B4 General Responsibilities 1. Authorisations are granted in accordance with the conditions applicable to the authorisation. These conditions include compliance with the Requirements for Authorisation applicable at the time of authorisation, this Guide and appropriate Inspection Manuals, as amended from time to time. Additional conditions may also be specified within the written authorisation. AEs are in lawfully responsible for ensuring that statutory MOT testing at their VTSs is carried out to the required standard and in the manner instructed by DVSA. Failure to adhere to the conditions of an authorisation, or notify DVSA of a change in the constitution or operation of a business or approved site may result in disciplinary action (see Section I. Fora partnership or company, all partners or directors and officers of the company are equally responsible. 2. Each authorisation is required to have an AEDM and a SM for each VTS, which maybe the same person. See Section M. The responsibilities of Testers are set out in Section E. AEs are held fully responsible for the actions of their staff and others acting on their behalf or with their agreement, all such staff must be adequately supervised and fully conversant with their testing duties.
