2 The location of the wall terminations is one of the most important aspects of a direct-vent installation. Both the intake and exhaust terminations must be located on the same outside wall in order to balance wind pressure effects against the flow of exhaust gases. In addition, the wall terminations shall not be installed on that side of the building exposed to the prevailing wind direction or in alcoves and exterior building recesses where swirling wind conditions may occur.
